Day 35: The Breath of the Earth

The Breath of the Earth

The winds are changing
at last our sails billow,
and we once more sail along,
on the breath of the Earth.

In the doldrums we lay
unable to stir
fated to wallow
for time unknown.

At last we feel
the shifting course
and the familiar life force
rushing in once again.

Lifted up on her breath,
I turned my face to the sky
drinking the cool breeze
I thought to myself:

A time will come
when empty sails
do not strike fear
in the hearts of men.

I like birds.

I like birds.

No seriously, I really do have a strange obsession with birds.
